ABC’s “The Rookie” is currently on a pause because of the strike but Season 6 is officially coming soon!!
While the cast and crew waits for filming to begin, the series was just nominated for their first Emmy in 3 years.
Nominations for the 2023 Emmy Awards were announced on July 12, 2023.
The series earned a nomination for Outstanding Stunt Coordination For A Drama Series, Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie for stunt coordinator David Scott Rowden Sr. Alongside nominated in the same category is FBI: Most Wanted, S.W.A.T., The Mandalorian and The Boys.
This is the shows second nomination overall and makes the series the only scripted drama on ABC to receive a nomination at this years Emmy’s! Huge!

As for now, Fox is slated to air the 75th Primetime Emmys on September 18, produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment. (The two-night Creative Arts Emmys are scheduled for Sept. 9 and Sept. 10, with the ceremonies being broadcast by FXX on Sept. 10.) Variety reported, the WGA strike and potential SAG-AFTRA strike will likely push the telecast to either November (the TV Academy’s choice) or January (when Fox would like to air it). A host has not yet been named.
The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Mekia Cox, Shawn Ashmore, and Tru Valentino. Lisseth Chavez recurs. John Nolan (Fillion) is a middle-aged divorced man from Pennsylvania who owns a construction company. He decides to give up his old life to pursue a new career as a police officer in the Los Angeles Police Department. He graduates from the Police Academy, is the oldest rookie on the force, and eventually becomes a training officer. He works with Sergeant Wade Grey (Jones), Detective Angela Lopez (Diaz), training officers Nyla Harper (Cox) and Tim Bradford (Winter), fellow rookie Lucy Chen (O’Neil), and the station’s newest rookie, Aaron Thorsen (Valentino).
